Full time (Geology and Environmental Science) or two part time (one Geology, one Environmental Science) Programme Leader(s)

Salary: £21,534 -£34,757 plus excellent benefits

Due to staff retirement and a member of staff moving on, we have an opportunity to join the science team in the Faculty of Maths and Science.

The faculty was awarded grade 1 in the Ofsted inspection in 2014 and is internally assessed as grade 1. We deliver a range of maths and science courses at levels two and three and boast excellent progress and success rates. This role is primarily within AS and A level Geology and/or Environmental Science but is likely to include IB delivery.

The successful applicant(s) would also be a personal tutor to a group of students.

You will be managed and supported by the Team Leader who is a highly experienced Environmental Science lecturer, a senior examiner for AQA and has also taught A2 Geology.

You will also have a mentor and a faculty-based Learning Lead as well as support for tutoring from a Lead Tutor. The faculty is mainly based in new purpose-built facilities in the Maths and Science Centre. The Programme Leader aspect of the role involves taking responsibility for an element of the work of the team, for example an element within the A level, but overall coordination sits with the Team Leader.

We are looking for either a full time teacher who can deliver both geology and environmental science, or two part time members of staff. If part time there may be flexibility to teach across other curriculum disciplines within the faculty, such as biology, to increase the hours of a part time role.

We are seeking to appoint candidates with the greatest ability, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in the classroom. If you fit the bill and are passionate to teach within this thriving college, your application will be welcome! Please specify if you are looking for part time or full time hours and your subject specialism in your supporting statement.
Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure by the DBS.

We do not accept CV’s, no agencies please.

Exeter College is committed to promoting equality of opportunity and access for all, irrespective of age, background, race, gender, religion, ability, disability or sexuality. We welcome applications for employment from the whole community.
