Recruiting: 2 full-time Community Builders

Torbay's Ageing Well Partnership was awarded GBP6 million from the Big Lottery Fund for a six year programme, to March 2021, to reduce social isolation experienced by people over 50. We want to reach every front door, building a sustainable neighbourhood network, valuing the contributions that people over 50 have to make to each other and the wider community, stimulating new activities and ensuring people know what is available and can participate.

We are currently looking for 2 full-time Community Builders to work at the neighbourhood level, and with existing associational groups, to engage with isolated older people and to support people in building connected and caring communities that are welcoming places for people to grow older together.

We are looking motivators, connectors, communicators, tacticians, peacemakers and storytellers. Confident, kind, resourceful, courageous, warm and encouraging people that can grow capacity, weave relationships and help local people build their communities.

Tell us what you could bring to this Programme.

The Torbay Community Development Trust is the lead organisation for Ageing Well and is recruiting on behalf of the Partnership.

Community Builder: Hours 37.5 per week - job share considered, Salary: GBP20,868
