The Role 

As a Production Operator, you will work in our second fire department, working with our kilns. 

The kilns are large ovens that fire our tiles. You'll be working with high temperatures, so a strong focus on health and safety is key. 

Specifically, you will: 

- Ensure that temperatures within the kilns stay within range 
- Move tiles efficiently into the kiln 
- Check tiles once they have been fired 
- Make sure that all tiles meet our high quality standards 

About You 

While no previous production experience is required, to be considered, you'll need to have: 

- A good understanding of health and safety in the workplace 
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills 
- Your own transport (local public transport is not compatible with our shift times) 
- The ability to work independently 

British Ceramic Tile operates a rotating day and night shift pattern (including every other weekend), so it's important that you're able to work both day and night shifts. 

Other job titles you may have held could include Production Assistant, Trainee Production Operative, Junior Manufacturing Assistant, Warehouse Assistant, Production Line Operative or Factory Operative.
