We are recruiting in Bridgewater for a Manufacturing Manager to provide leadership across this key milk production site. We are looking for an experienced individual to deliver dairy performance through the alignment of resources (people, plant and process) to meet defined KPI's & operational targets. The successful candidate would identify and implement continuous improvements in order to support the business and achieve our aim to become the biggest and best chilled dairy & Ingredients Company in the UK. Your challenge: Team Development Visibly champion production on site and support the implementation of improvement Develop & manage communication methods to engage site employees Act as a role model in terms of accountability & integrity Support the site in ensuring all products produced are "right first time", in line with customer expectations Develop a culture of aspiration & excellence within production so the site delivers its OGSM targets Create internal succession plan for Team Leaders and Production Managers Leadership Manage production staff in line with all Müller HR policies & procedures (Including PDP process, objective setting, absence management, recruitment & selection etc.) Ensure that there is sufficient competent staff available to deliver the team, site and business targets Encourage the team to always maintain a safe, tidy working environment for themselves and colleagues whilst adhering H&S rules and guidelines Ensure that all routine, rituals, tasks and objectives are undertaken and completed within agreed timeframes Lead by example regards behaviours and "Living the Values". Staff Development & Training Ensure that a Training Needs Analysis has been carried out for self and all team members within the production function Ensure that there is a training plan in place to address the training needs in order of priority Participate, conduct &/or oversee training of self, existing and new staff and monitor to ensure that all training needs are met Ensure training records are maintained and reviews undertaken in line with company procedures & /or requirements.? Support HS&E & Autonomous Maintenance Encourage production champions for Health and Safety, EMS and Quality focus days and release resource to support these activities. Take site lead on Autonomous Maintenance, take ownership of the roadmap and set up and chair focus day to drive implementation through the Dairy Support site audits on Health and Safety, EMS and Quality to achieve BRC, ISO 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Project Management & Continuous Improvement Ensure self and team are familiar with and adhere to the CI framework for all CI activities and projects undertaken. Identify, implement &/or support implementation of all CI initiatives identified from a quality perspective. Support Site / Central Quality System related CI activities as required. Ensure that key procedures & processes are reviewed in line with business / site changes. Budgetary Control / GO Process Oversee & manage production team labour budgets Support Preparation of annual budget following GO principles and in line with timescales set, and monitor and investigate significant deviations Key skills & experience Nebosh Certificate is desirable. Lean credentials are essential. Essential man management /leadership skills and must be able & desire to lead a team and a minimum 2 years in a first line management position. Must be highly motivated, organised with good communication, co-ordination & influencing skills. Able to communicate across all levels within the business Minimum 5 years' experience in a Food/Dairy/Drink related environment is essential PC literate - familiar with Notes, Excel, PowerPoint & Word Logical approach to problem solving Excellent attention to detail Ability to influence others and dynamic Clear & concise communication.
